Humanity Unearthed was established in 2015 to shed light on grassroots initiatives that deliver aid to vulnerable populations, particularly those residing in the Asia-Pacific region. We hope to achieve this by identifying worthy organisations and donating items essential to delivering services to disadvantaged populations.
The website will serve to collate information on various charitable initiatives, focusing on highlighting the location, mission statements, communities benefited and, in particular, specific resource needs of each organisation.
Chairperson: Dr Asvini Subasinghe
I am a leader in health equity research who is passionate about implementing and evaluating health interventions for priority populations across APAC. I was awarded my PhD in Public Health from Monash University in 2015 and received postgraduate training in leadership in the primary care setting from Oxford University (2023-2025). I have led national randomised clinical trials, longitudinal cohort and mixed-methods studies, with global multi-disciplinary teams, using consumer-led and co-design principles. I also have extensive experience in field research internationally and in developing culturally responsive interventions in resource poor settings. My work has been supported by international fellowships and over $2 million AUD in federally funded grants as a Chief Investigator. I also served as a Board Director for Children By Choice (2023-2025).
